We will be running a dance fitness class on the Spring Bank Holiday Monday 26th May 11am – 11.45am at Church of Ascension, Calvert Road. It’s alwasy a popular class and is a mixture of Zumba Gold and Keep Fit with a few toning tracks in the playlist. The session is £5 and there’s no need to book you can just turn up. Open to everyone and your loyalty cards apply as usual. There’s lots of free parking at the venue.

The class is nice and early so you can get your exercise done for the day and then carry on with your bank holiday plans.

Once again we are having a special May Day Bank Holiday Fitness Class on Monday 5th May 11am – 11.45am at Church of Ascension, Calvert Road. I will be teaching the class and it will be a mixture of Keep Fit, Zumba Gold with some shaping and toning tracks in the playlist.

The class is open to everyone and you don’t have to book you can just turn up – it’s £5 payable by cash or card at the class.

The session is nice and early so you can get you exercise session done and then carry on with your bank holiday plans.

We held our annual Fitness Vibe Quiz night on Friday 4th April 2025 in celebration of our Fitness Vibe 14th year anniversary. This year we had 107 of us taking part. All proceeds from the evening went to the Cottingham Village Trust to help maintain the Civic Hall. There was a bar, raffle and fish and chip supper served by Papas of Willerby.

The evening was a big success and everyone enjoyed themselves. So our winning team was – “Liverpool FC” my team! So well done to my husband, sister, brother in law, our very own Jean Skinner, Instructor Catherine and my friends Rich and Dave. The runners up were – “The Retired Swingers Club!” and third place went to “Fuelled By Proseco!”

I am pleased to say we manage to raise £1457.50 on the evening! Well done everyone and thanks as always for supporting our popular annual Quiz evening.

Monday 3rd March 2025 was our Fitness Vibe 14th Anniversary! I would like to say a massive thank you to our class members past and present who’ve supported the classes for all these years. I’m proud to say the classes are still as vibrant and joyful as ever.

To celebrate we had a trip down memory lane during the Zumba sessions revisiting our favourite retro nostalgic Zumba tracks. The atmosphere in the classes was amazing!

We are also celebrating the anniversary by holding our annual Fitness Vibe Quiz night on Friday 4th April at Civic Hall. The quiz night is open to all current Fitness Vibe class members and their family and friends.

Here’s to the next 14 years everyone!

Our lovely Instructor Gaynor turned 60 earlier this month. Thanks to everyone who put towards her birthday gifts she was so pleased with them.

Her husband Tony did a surprise party for her at Cassiel Bar Cottingham, well done Tony for keeping it a secret! Gaynor and Tony then had a lovely weekend away in the Dales a couple of weeks ago to celebrate her big birthday. Welcome to the sensational sixties Gaynor!

Our lovely Instructor Helen turned 60 on Thursday 30th January! We surprised her as she was just about to teach our Thursday morning exercise class at Cottingham Sports Centre.

Thanks to everyone who put towards Helen’s birthday gifts – £100 beautician voucher, a pamper box, fizz and flowers!

Helen was so chuffed! Welcome to the sensational sixties Helen!

Let’s get 2025 off to a flying start! Classes start again from Monday 6th January 2025. Please note the Outdoor exercise class starts again the week after.

It will be great to see some familiar faces and if you haven’t been for a while it would be lovely to see you again. The sessions are still £5 and you don’t have to book, you can just turn up which is great!

It was our last festive class of the year on Wednesday 18th December. As usual we had our popular Zumba Gold class at Civic Hall, Cottingham. The class had lots of smiles and energy and the turnout was great!

Remember we have our special holiday “Twixtmas” dance fitness class on Friday 27th December 10.30am Civic Hall. I will be teaching the class and it would be great if you could make it. Please remember the class has to be pre-booked and prepaid so message me if you would like to book your place.

Our last class will Zumba Gold on Wednesday 18th December 10.30am Civic Hall. We then have a short Christmas break. Remember we have our special holiday “Twixtmas” Dance Fitness Class on Friday 27th December 10.30am Civic Hall. Please remember the Twixtmas class must be prebooked and prepaid.

Classes then start again on Thursday 2nd January 2025 with Gaynor’s “warm up” Zumba class 6.30pm at Civic Hall, and I will be teaching Strictly Fitsteps on Friday 3rd January 2025 10.30am at Civic Hall.

The full weekly schedule starts again on Monday 6th January 2025.

Open to anyone who fancies moving again during this holiday period. I will be teaching the class this day. The session is £5, spaces are limited and the class must be prebooked and prepaid – sorry no refunds.
