Our lovely Instructor Gaynor turned 60 earlier this month. Thanks to everyone who put towards her birthday gifts she was so pleased with them.
Her husband Tony did a surprise party for her at Cassiel Bar Cottingham, well done Tony for keeping it a secret! Gaynor and Tony then had a lovely weekend away in the Dales a couple of weeks ago to celebrate her big birthday. Welcome to the sensational sixties Gaynor!
Our lovely Instructor Helen turned 60 on Thursday 30th January! We surprised her as she was just about to teach our Thursday morning exercise class at Cottingham Sports Centre.

Let’s get 2025 off to a flying start! Classes start again from Monday 6th January 2025. Please note the Outdoor exercise class starts again the week after.
It will be great to see some familiar faces and if you haven’t been for a while it would be lovely to see you again. The sessions are still £5 and you don’t have to book, you can just turn up which is great!

It was our last festive class of the year on Wednesday 18th December. As usual we had our popular Zumba Gold class at Civic Hall, Cottingham. The class had lots of smiles and energy and the turnout was great!
Remember we have our special holiday “Twixtmas” dance fitness class on Friday 27th December 10.30am Civic Hall. I will be teaching the class and it would be great if you could make it. Please remember the class has to be pre-booked and prepaid so message me if you would like to book your place.

Classes then start again on Thursday 2nd January 2025 with Gaynor’s “warm up” Zumba class 6.30pm at Civic Hall, and I will be teaching Strictly Fitsteps on Friday 3rd January 2025 10.30am at Civic Hall.
The full weekly schedule starts again on Monday 6th January 2025.

Once again we are running a special holiday “Twixtmas” dance fitness class on Friday 27th December 10.30am in the main hall at Civic Hall, Cottingham. Open to anyone who fancies moving again during this holiday period. I will be teaching the class this day. The session is £5, spaces are limited and the class must be prebooked and prepaid – sorry no refunds.

The class was a big success last year and we all enjoyed getting moving again so hope to see you.

What a surprise I had at our Strictly Fitsteps class on Friday 21st June! I just want to say a massive thank you to everyone who has donated to my birthday gifts. It was very kind of you all and I was very touched.
I will be using my Shrigley Hall voucher for a Spa treatment on my little break there and will use the Boots voucher for my favourite Clinique products.
It’s my birthday on Sunday 23rd June and our daughter Erin is coming home from London for the weekend so I plan to have a lovely time celebrating with family and friends.

Well done to everyone who attended our special Wartime themed Strictly Fitsteps class on Friday 7th June at Civic Hall, Cottingham. Remembering the Normandy landings of 1944 we danced to those iconic songs of that era.
Lots of you dressed up in wartime theme outfits to mark the occasion and looked fabulous! Well done to everyone for managing all that wartime choreography – you did great!

We have our Friday morning Strictly Fitsteps Class as usual on Friday 7th June 10.30am Civic Hall, Cottingham.
The class that day will have a wartime theme remembering the events of June 6th 1944.
We will be dancing to those iconic wartime tracks by Glenn Miller, Vera Lynn, The Andrews Sisters and more!
The class is open to everyone, no need to book, just turn up, it’s £5 for the session payable at the class. Come along and join me on this special day.

On Friday 26th April we had our annual Fitness Gold day trip. This time we went to Sewerby Hall and gardens. Once again we all had a great day out.
Thanks to Les Holland coaches for their excellent service and I hope they enjoyed our sing a long with our song sheets!
When arriving at the hall we all had some time to explore and then had our private group lunch in the gorgeous orangery. A resident historical speaker gave a talk which was really interesting.
After lunch some of us picked up the little land train to go along the coast whilst others did more exploring around the grounds.
Once again we had a thoroughly enjoable day out together and the weather was amazing!
