A big thank you to Gaynor, Elaine and Helen for covering our classes whilst I was on my weeks holiday in Crete. They all did an amazing job and the feedback has been great. Everyone enjoyed the classes. I really appreciate it as we can keep the classes running all year. Thank you so much Gaynor, Elaine and Helen xx

New Legs, Bums and Tums class for the Summer months
I am making some slight changes to our weekly schedule during the summer months of July and August. There will be a Legs Bums and Tums class running every Tuesday evening at Civic Hall 6.30pm – 7.15pm. The class is a whole body workout targeting all the problem areas. We will be using dynabands, hand weights and mats for the floorwork. I will just be running the Wednesday evening Fitsteps class once every 4 weeks during July and August. I fully intend to bring Fitsteps back regularly every Wednesday evening once the Strictly Season is back on the TV in September. Please note our Friday morning Fitsteps class is running as usual every Friday morning 10.30am – 11.15am Civic Hall, Cottingham.
What a fabulous Summer Solstice Event!
Thank you all for joining me at our Summer Solstice Social Event. I hope you all enjoyed yourself on the evening. I am in the process of planning another social for the end of Summer. Watch this space. x
Good Luck England!
With the world cup in mind we will be doing a few Football tracks in our Zumba classes. There is actually an official Zumba track being used featuring Pit Bull and Gente Di Zona. I am in the process of trying to get hold of some England flags to get us all in the spirit of the world cup. Good luck to the three lions!!
Wellness Day Event with the amazing Donna Giffen
I am really looking forward to the Mindfulness Day at Scarborough with Donna Giffen on the 1st July hosted by my dear friend and fellow Instructor Debs Horsham-Batley. Tickets are selling fast so grab yourself one fast!
In the meantime, why not have a go at this really simple Mindfulness Exercise and see what you think:
You can stand or sit. If you can sit in the meditation (lotus) position that would be great. Start by breathing in and out slowly. One breath cycle should last 6 seconds. Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth, letting your breath flow effortlessly in and out of your body. Let go of your thoughts. Let go of things you have to do later today or pending projects that need your attention. Simply let thoughts rise and fall of their own accord and be at one with your breath. Purposefully watch your breath, focusing your sense of awareness on its pathway as it enters your body and fills you with life. Then watch with your awareness as it works its way up and out of your mouth and its energy dissipates into the world.
If you are someone who thought they’d never be able to meditate, guess what? You are half way there already!
Strictly Singapore
It was wonderful to have Valerie Seah in our Strictly Fitsteps class this morning. Valerie came over to the UK from Singapore to compete in the 2018 Blackpool Dance Festival; the ProAm B1 Championships at the famous Winter Gardens. You can see her here in the picture looking fabulous as a finalist in the quickstep. It was so lovely meeting Valerie and I even managed to a sneaky private lesson! Valerie was thrilled to be a finalist in the Quickstep, Tango, Waltz and Foxtrot at the Blackpool competition. The lovely picture in her costume is her in the Quickstep final, and you can see her teaching me the ballroom hold! Thanks you Valerie and come back to see us soon!
