Tuesday 2nd October 2018 is World Ballet Day, so I thought I would share a little memory with you!

As a young dancer I was fortunate to meet the legendary Margot Fonteyn when she came to Hull New Theatre in 1976.  Quite by chance my mum saw an opportunity and shoe-horned me into her dressing room!

It was the second and last time she ever came to Hull, the time before that was 1940.  I would just like everyone to know what a beautiful, elegant, warm and welcoming lady she was who was willing to sit and listen to a young girls hopes and dreams as a dancer.  I will never forget it.

So with that in mind, I hope you all get to enjoy the ballet within the next year x   I hope to see the Nutcracker in London over the festive period.
