It’s our Fitness Vibe 9th Year anniversary on 3rd March 2020.  Thank you all for supporting our classes for the past 9 years.  Here is a picture from our very first class taken at the Civic Hall on March 3rd 2011!  Can you spot yourself?  It so great that lots of the ladies in the picture still come to class now x

To celebrate our 9th anniversary this year  we are having a fun charity quiz night on Friday 6th March which is now sold out!  We will also be doing lots of retro tracks in the playlist at our evening Zumba Classes week commencing 2nd March for a bit of nostalgia.  If you have any requests and favourite tracks, please contact me and I will try and remember the tracks and pop them in our playlist!

I cant believe it’s been 9 years!  It’s fabulous that we still have a vibrant community fitness community after 9 years, still going strong.  Fitness, fun and friendship x

I am offering an Unlimited Class Pass for March 2020 for £39 (5 week month).  Come along to as many Fitness Vibe Classes at Civic Hall throughout March for £39.  Represents excellent value.  If you attend three times a week it works out approx £3.00 per class.   If you attend four times a week it works out approx £2.16 per class and five times – well that’s just £1.85 per class – bargain!  Please note loyalty cards no longer apply when using the pass.

It was great that Calendar ITV News wanted to film our Zumba Gold classes with their feature “age is just a number”.  The little clip was live on Calendar on Tuesday 4th February.  I have now got the official video from Calendar and have posted it on to our You Tube Channel.  It’s easy to view it direct from out website, simply scroll down to the bottom of the home page on the website, and select the You Tube icon.  Alternatively you can go into my you tube channel “Katrina Catton” and find the video there.

It was great to attend the UK Zumba Academy 2020 at Manchester on Friday 7th February.  The first day was a master class with all the UK Zumba Educational presenters.  Saturdays sessions kicked off with a master class from the boss himself Beto Perez who was brilliant!  Next to follow was a Flamenco workshop with the amazing Jessica Espocito called “Flamenco Flow”.  The session was full on with lots of tips and advice on how to incorporate the flamenco style into our Zumba classes.  Next up was Zumba Strong, the latest speciality from Zumba which was fab to watch from the side line!  I think my favourite session was the afternoon workshop with Mansoor Galant called “African Beats”.  Hard work with lots of isolation moves and a real challenge!  The final session was Latin Urban and I have managed to pick up quite a few choreography ideas to use in our classes so all good x

We all had a big surprise when the X Factor finalist Fluer East took to the stage with Beto!  May be we should bring back our “Sax” track in Fitsteps?  The day ended with a gracious speech from Beto and I finally managed to get a picture with him!

All in all I had a fabulous weekend with great company and came back fully inspired!!

It will be our Fitness Vibe 9th Anniversary this March, where does the time go?  To celebrate we are having a fun Quiz Night on Friday 6th March 7.30pm – 10.00pm at Civic Hall, Cottingham.  There will be a fish and chip supper (vegetarian pie option available).   The bar will open from 7.00pm and there will also be a raffle on the night (£1 a strip).  Prizes for the winning teams.  If we can have teams no more than 8 per team.  Tickets are £10 and are available to purchase from any Fitness Vibe class from Monday 3rd February.  All proceeds to go the the Cottingham Village Trust Charity.  The Trust will put the money raised towards their own  “twinkly light” back drop on the stage.

Open to all Fitness Vibe class members and their friends and family.  The more the merrier!  It should be a fun night and I hope you can join me x

What an exciting class we had on Wednesday 22nd January.  It was great that Calendar TV called me to ask if they could film and interview a few ladies at our Zumba Gold class in Cottingham.  Thanks to everyone who came to the class that morning and agreed to be filmed.  The theme of the little clip is “aging well”  “age is just a number”.  I understand there are various groups up and down the UK taking part.   You all looked amazing and fabulous from the stage and I really hope they capture you all well x.  Special thanks to Cathy, Joan and Sue for agreeing to be interviewed. The film crew have now sent the film to be edited and I believe it will be shown on Calendar TV week beginning Monday 3rd February at the 6 pm slot.  Keep an eye on the TV!

We all enjoyed a lovely Festive lunch in the Old Oak Room, Civic Hall, Cottingham on Wednesday 11th December.  I would like to thank my lovely neice Lydia who helped me the evening before in decorating this gorgeous old room, it looked lovely!

After a fun festive Zumba Class we all went upstairs to the gorgeous Old Oak Room in the Civic Hall and enjoyed a wonderful buffet by Andy the chef.  We were then entertained by the very talented Ellie Pollard.

Adele and I would like to thank you all for our lovely gifts, it was very kind of you all x
