Look what appeared in my emails this week from Zumba HQ – my 10 year Zinversary badge!  I can’t believe I did my Zumba training 10 years ago.  As many of you know I was hoping to do something really special to celebrate with you all in March (we actually started our Zumba classes on March 3rd 2011).  Hopefully we can celebrate in some format when we return to our live face to face classes.  Thanks to everyone who has supported my classes over the past 10 years, some of you still come to class now which is fabulous.  I still love teaching the Zumba programme and look forward to the next 10 years!

How about this throwback picture.  Here is our lovely Fitness Body instructor Helen Burdin pictured here way back in 1994 at the annual Blackpool Fitness Convention.  What a fabulous picture, don’t you agree?  The Blackpool event still takes place to this day bringing Instructors together from all over the UK.  I believe the event this year had to be held online.

I popped this picture with an accompanying post on our social media page and it was lovely receiving messages from lots of pioneer instructors from around the 80’s and 90’s.  We have all been sharing memories and old pictures.

If you would like to see more of Helen above, she teaches our weekly Legs Bums and Tums classes every Tuesday evening 6.30pm – 7.15pm at Civic Hall, Cottingham.  At the moment all live classes are on hold due to the government restrictions.  However we have Helen teaching pre recorded Legs Bums and Tums videos filmed recently at the Civic Hall in the video shop of this website.  If you think you would like to use the videos please register in the video site of this website.  I will then give you access to them.  Each video can be used as many times as you like within a 7 day period so is great value at £4 a video.  You can pay direct in the website and receive them or I can arrange for you to pay by bank transfer/payment link or cheque if that suits you best.  I can easily  programme your video ready from my system so you simply have it ready to play in the video site.  Just get back to me if you would like this option.

“Ahoy there!”  Fitness Vibe team have been busy this week filming in the Civic Hall.  We are happy to announce that we now have a new batch of videos for you to use at home.  All you need to do is register in the video section of the website.  Once I can see you have registered I will give you access to the videos and send you a text.

We have 5 videos in the shop – all our usual class styles and the content will be updated regularly.  The videos are all £4 each and expire after a 7 day period when you have the option to buy again.  You can pay by PayPal or bank card in the video site and it’s very customer friendly.  I do have the facility to set the videos ready to play for you if you would prefer to pay by payment link or bank transfer to me direct.  Simply contact me on 07910 797527 if you need this service, no worries.  The videos are streamed through the website so will be compatible with a large screen smart TV.

I look forward to returning to outdoor/indoor classes as soon as restrictions are lifted but in the meantime please take a look at the new video shop and keep yourself moving.

I’m so sorry we are remaining in tier 3 restrictions.  Hopefully we can all be dancing together as soon as possible in 2021.  In the meantime you now have a selection of pre recorded videos to do in the comfort of your own home which are streamed through this website.   I have just produced 5 new Festive videos all filmed last week at the Civic Hall, Cottingham.  Why not have a look?   I will update the content regularly for you.

“Dance away your tiers”  We may be in tier 3 but we are still managing to run outdoor dance fitness classes every Monday and Wednesday morning 11.00am – 11.30am at the Church of Ascension, Calvert Road, HULL. There is something very special about exercising outdoors.  Good for the constitution!  I hope you are all enjoying the sessions as much I am.  In response to the feedback I have received it seems it’s just what we all need.

Weather permitting I aim to run these outdoor 30 minute dance fitness sessions every Monday and Wednesday morning at 11am from now on at the Church Of The Ascension car park, Calvert Road, HULL.  I aim to run them throughout this tier 3 period.  Please park in the Priory Pub car park on the opposite side of the road (we have permission from the owners).  The sessions are £3.50 pay on the day but you must book with me in advance to check there are spaces.  We are currently allowed to run outdoor group fitness in tier 3 with no restrictions on numbers but of course following Covid guidelines.  We can run the music and my mic system so it has a “feel good factor”.   At the end of the session you go away with a warm non-alcoholic mulled wine on me x  Here is the class schedule for the next two weeks:

Monday 21 Dec               11am – 11.30am (cancelled due to weather)

Wednesday 23 Dec         11am – 11.30am (cancelled due to weather)

Monday 28 Dec                11am – 11.30am

Wednesday 30 Dec         **earlier time of 10.00am – 10.30am due to church service**

Monday 4 Jan 2021          11am – 11.30am

Wednesday 6 Jan             11am – 11.30am

Friday 8 Jan   (reserved this time slot in case any of the other classes that week are cancelled for bad weather)

We have now had confirmation that indoor group exercise classes can’t take place in tier 3 so all classes are now cancelled.  I’m so sorry that we find ourselves in this position again.

So if you have a pre booked class with me I am now offering a full refund (please contact me with your bank details) or vouchers to the equivalent value to use in my pre recorded video shop in the website.

Please get back to me with your preferred option.  Hopefully we can all be dancing again together as soon as possible but I would like to sort the bookings out so we can start afresh next year.  Katrina x

So sorry but we are still awaiting a decision on the possibility of returning to indoor group exercise in tier 3 areas.  Obviously there are no classes this week and I will try and give a definite answer by Friday 4th December as to where we stand.  Please keep following the posts on the website and I will keep in touch with you all.  Katrina x

• Hope you are all doing ok and keeping your spirits up.  As you are aware we were expecting to open again this Thursday 3rd December but we now find ourselves in a tier 3 with government restrictions.  Under tier 3 Gyms are allowed to open but we are not allowed to run indoor group exercise classes.  Our governing body is in talks with DCMS to try and get this changed so we can run our indoor classes again.  We have been advised we should get clarification later today, Monday 30th November.  As soon as I find anything out I will contact you all.

It’s that time of year again – our annual strictly sweepstake.  Your celebrity was drawn at random in our live draw on facebook on Sunday evening 25th October.  It was £5 to enter and all money from the sweepstake will be shared out amongst the winners.  There are three draws taking place:

1  The first celebrity to be knocked out

2  The first celebrity to get the “perfect 10”

3  The celebrity to become the 2020 champion!
