The Fitness Vibe Hub

The Fitness Vibe Hub

Just a gentle reminder, if you are on facebook, I am asking all my Fitness Vibe class members past and present to request to join our private facebook group “The Fitness Vibe Hub”.  During these difficult times whilst we can’t run our “live” classes I will be posting digital content in there for you to use in the comfort of your own home.  It is also a way of staying connected with each other.  Please note all class members who attend morning classes will receive an email automatically when there is a new video release.   I will of course keep in touch with you all with regular updates via email and text.

To be honest I really did think we would be back at our classes in June 2020 but this does not seem to be the case.  Moving forward I hope to offer a service with an online digital platform through this website where you can access home video workouts.

I just want to say I am missing you all very much and really miss teaching.  Let’s hope we can be back to our “live” classes sooner rather then later.

Stay safe and keep moving!

A home workout for you – Themed VE Day Ballroom Fitness Video

Hope you are all doing ok in the challenging lockdown situation.  If you attend morning Fitness Vibe classes please check your emails as you should have received a workout video in the style of our Fitsteps classes.  The home workout is a Themed VE Day dance fitness workout.  There will be two more 30 minute fitness videos arriving week commencing Monday 25th May – A Legs Bums and Tums and also a Body Conditioning style.  Please keep an eye on your emails.  If you are on facebook I am asking all Fitness Vibe Class members past and present to join “The Fitness Vibe Hub” which is our new private members facebook page.

I am really missing teaching our live classes and hope that we can all be back together again sooner rather than later.

Stay safe and well,

It has now been 6 weeks since we were forced to close our classes as per the guidelines on Covid 19.  I think we were all hoping we could run our classes in some format but this option does not look viable at the moment.   Rest assured I have been busy behind the scenes looking into ways of offering an online presence in some way?   I have to be honest with you though, in that I am really struggling with offering digital classes as I have always been a “live” teacher/performer and react to what I see in front of me.

There may be a possibility of running digital classes through this website as a way forward in a private members page.  In the meantime I intend to do a few videos to do in the comfort of your own home.  I have just sent out an email to all class members who attend the morning classes with a link to a 30 minute home keep fit workout.  It’s a gentle, easy to follow keep fit video, the focus on joint mobility, muscle strength and a bit of cardio.  The video is ideal for Zumba Gold class members, Fitness Gold members and morning Strictly Fitsteps members.  If you attend morning classes please check you have received your email or contact me accordingly.

Evening class members – You will be receiving an email shortly.  Helen, our Fitness Body specialist has done a 30 minute Legs Bums and Tums video and I intend to do a Dance Fitness style video.

Please note – if you are on facebook, please like and follow our Fitness Vibe Hull facebook page.  I will shortly be inviting all class members on facebook to join my private members facebook page “The Fitness Vibe Hub” where I hope to pop some more digital content whilst we are in this challenging Covid 19 situation.

I really hope the government give us some guidance in the coming weeks regarding the possibility of running our group exercise classes in some format.  If it looks as though the current lockdown situation will continue for some time I will offer more home workouts or look into a digital platform on the website.  Please keep checking this website and follow our facebook page.  As always, I will keep in touch with you via email and text.

Missing you all very much and missing teaching our classes.

Stay safe and take care

Guess how much our charity fun quiz night raised?

Guess how much our charity fun quiz night raised?

Happy Easter everyone!  Just wanted to say I am missing you all so much and can’t wait to be back teaching our classes again.  I am lost for words about this awful situation in the world at the moment and hope you are all keeping yourself safe and well and doing ok.

On a brighter note, I have been in contact with Ian Start, the chairman of Cottingham Village Trust and we now have the final figure of the amount raised at our fun charity quiz night which took place at on Friday March 6th.

I am pleased to announce that the final figure we raised is £2003.00!!   How great is that!  Thanks to everyone who supported the event.  I am so pleased with the amount raised and plan to make the quiz an annual event as I know how much we all enjoyed the evening.  Thanks to all the local business owners who donated to our raffle, the raffle alone raised £611.00!  A big thanks to Papas Fish & Chip company who organised the supper on the evening.

The money has now been donated as agreed to Cottingham Village Trust and will be used in their efforts to maintain and retain the Civic Hall Cottingham.

I hope you are all managing to keep moving and keep your spirits up in this challenging period.

Thank you all so much for supporting our event, and I cant wait for us all to be back dancing again together.

Hello everyone, how are you all doing after our first week of isolation?

Hello everyone, how are you all doing after our first week of isolation?

Hello ladies.  This is not a usual business website post/blog.  I just wanted to make sure I am reaching out to everyone just in case I do not have your mobile or email address.

I hope you are all well, staying in and keeping safe as per the government guidelines.  I just wanted to say I miss teaching our live classes so much and I am lost for words about what is going on around us.

I am currently in the process of identifying those Fitness Vibe class members who are in the over 70 age range, live alone with no outside space.   My priority would certainly be with this group to deliver some sort of online uplifting exercise activity with the platforms available.  I am very aware that many in this age group do not use social media and do not all have laptops etc.  Once I have tried to sort something out to keep social interaction with this group, I would then hope to do something temporary for other groups.  This is proving difficult with all the licencing laws in place and the equipment I currently own.

In the meantime please try and keep active.  If you find yourself sedentary, maybe move around every hour, walk up and down the stairs where possible, follow some of the you tube classes/TV classes available.  When doing so please remember to have suitable footwear on, have a hazard free space to exercise, have some water available and make sure you feel fit to exercise.  I hope your spirits stay lifted as much as possible in this challenging dreadful time.

Thinking of you all, I will be in touch

Fitness Vibe 9th Year Anniversary Week 2nd March 2020

Fitness Vibe 9th Year Anniversary Week 2nd March 2020

It’s our Fitness Vibe 9th Year anniversary on 3rd March 2020.  Thank you all for supporting our classes for the past 9 years.  Here is a picture from our very first class taken at the Civic Hall on March 3rd 2011!  Can you spot yourself?  It so great that lots of the ladies in the picture still come to class now x

To celebrate our 9th anniversary this year  we are having a fun charity quiz night on Friday 6th March which is now sold out!  We will also be doing lots of retro tracks in the playlist at our evening Zumba Classes week commencing 2nd March for a bit of nostalgia.  If you have any requests and favourite tracks, please contact me and I will try and remember the tracks and pop them in our playlist!

I cant believe it’s been 9 years!  It’s fabulous that we still have a vibrant community fitness community after 9 years, still going strong.  Fitness, fun and friendship x
