On Monday 9th December we all looked very festive doing our festive Christmas Strictly Fitsteps at Willerby Methodist Church.  It was great that the class was so well attended at this time of year – thank you x

We then went into the Square Well Coffee Shop which is part of the building.  We all enjoyed the mince pies and coffee and then went on to have a festive sing-a-long.  Thanks to six of you who volunteered to lead the group at the front.  You all sounded fabulous!  Maybe we should start a Fitness Vibe choir?  You all sounded so good x

We had our annual evening Zumba Gold Bash on Thursday 5th December at The Civic Hall, Cottingham.  Always a lovely evening.  We started off with our fun festive Zumba class with a few surprise tracks in the playlist.  We then had our glass of bubbly and fabulous buffet by Andy the chef at Cottingham Catering.

Lots of us were lucky on the raffle with some excellent prizes and lots of you took advantage of the bar being open with drinks for just £1!!   We were then entertained by the wonderful Maggie Hush who sang retro festive tracks for us to sing a long too.

I understand lots of you ended up in the Duke Of Cumberland and had a few sore heads the next morning?

Merry Christmas to you all and a happy New Year!  Remember we have our “Warm Up” Zumba class with Gaynor on Thursday 2nd January 6.30pm Civic Hall, to start off the New Year!

Fitness Gold is our traditional Keep Fit/ exercise to music class that meet every Monday morning at 11.00am a the Church of the Asension, Calvert Road (opposite the Priory Pub).

On Thursday 12th December we had our annual festive lunch at the Priory Pub, Priory Road, Hull.  Great food and service, well done to all the staff there.

Fitness Gold is now closed for the holidays and will open on Monday 13th January 2020.

The Southella Thursday morning Zumba Gold ladies all enjoyed a lovely festive lunch on Thursday 5th December at the Beech Tree, Kirkella.  It was lovely to see you all dressed up and not in our usual Zumba wear!

Thank you all so much for flowers, you are very kind and it was such a treat!

I am offering a Civic Hall Unlimited Class Pass for £23.  Come along to as many Fitness Vibe Classes at Civic Hall, Cottingham throughout December for £23.  Represents excellent value.  If you attend three times a week it works out approx £2.87 per class, if you attend four times a week it works out approx £2.09 per class and five times – well that’s just  £1.76 per class – bargain!  Please note the evening Xmas Zumba Bash on Thursday 5th December is not part of the pass.  Loyalty cards no longer apply when using the pass.

It’s our annual evening Christmas Zumba Bash on Thursday 5th December at the Civic Hall, Cottingham.  It’s a bit earlier this year due to an event in the hall.   Always a lovely evening – open to all Fitness Vibe members.  As usual it’s the Christmas Themed Zumba class from 6.30pm – 7.15pm (£5 entry which includes a raffle ticket).  We then have drinks, buffet and some entertainment in the bar area from 7.15pm – 9.30pm.  Glass of bubbly on me followed by wine, beer and soft drinks all £1 a drink!  I am asking for £5.50 towards the buffet and must have all monies in by Wednesday 27th November.

It’s always a special evening, not to be missed.  Hope you can join me x

A big thank you to everyone who donated food during our Community Fitness Week as part of the fitness for food campaign.  This was the first time there has ever been a National Community Fitness week.  This years campaign was called “fitness for food”.  Fitness Instructors from all over the UK were taking part whereby every class goer, new or regular was asked to bring a non-perishable item of food to their class.   The instructors then donated all the food to their local food bank.  Here at Fitness Vibe we have donated our food to the Hull Food Bank which belongs to the Trussell group and we have also donated to the local Cottingham Food Bank.

Thank you so much for your kind donations in supporting this worthwhile cause.  You will be pleased to hear that 381 Food Banks were supported and 125,000 meals were provided as a result of the efforts of community fitness classes throughout the UK.  Well done to the Community Fitness Network who are responsible for organsing the campaign.

On Monday 11th November our Fitness Gold Monday morning keep fit class held their annual Macmillan Coffee Morning at the Chuch of Asension, Calvert Road.  The morning started off with guest instructor Sandra from Sahara Dance Company delivering a Belly Dance Session.  It was great fun and we all learned some new skills!!  Sandra was a fabulous Belly Dance Instructor with 15 years experience and made the session so much fun.

The session was followed by coffee and cakes which were yummy!  It was wonderful to have a demonstration from Sandra in her authentic costumes, she then gave a talk on the origins of belly dancing which was really interesting.

Class member Ray did us proud once again when he organised the raffle for us.  As usual the raffle was as great as ever and lots of us were lucky to win some fabulous prizes donated by local business owners.

We were joined by Tracy Hammond who also runs keep fit classes in the hall.  Special thanks to Tracy’s class members who helped with the tea and coffee preparation.

For those of you who would like to join our lovely keep fit class we meet every Monday morning 11.00am – 11.45am at the Church Of Asension, Calvert Road.  Its a traditional easy to follow keep fit class with a seated section at the end.  A really lovely social class where you will be made to feel most welcome!

You will be pleased to hear we managed to raise £220 or the Macmillan charity on the day.  Well done everyone and thank you x

“Oh what a night!”  Seventy Zumba Gold ladies from Cottingham had a fabulous social evening on Friday 8th November.

The evening started with a glass of fizz and a pre-theatre meal at Pascos restaurant in Cottingham.  We then made our way to the Civic Hall, Cottingham for drinks and to be entertained by the fabulous Frankie Valley tribute act “Walk Like A Man”.

The lovely young men from “Walk Like A Man” kindly came to visit us at the restaurant to introduce themselves to us.  The show was fabulous, we all danced the night away having a brilliant time together.

I would highly recommend going to see this tribute band, you will have a wonderful night.  They are due to return to Cottingham again next year and we will definitely be organising the evening again.  Not to be missed!
